Shadow in the Sea

Readers will return to Windwaithe Island once again. When sixteen-year-old Sadelyn Hanson washes up on the shores of Windwaithe Island, her beauty and the strange marks on her wrist make superstitious locals suspect she is a mermaid. Feigning amnesia, Sade hides a far worse secret: she was sailing to her own murder trial when she was thrown overboard by the real killer, the cunning and cruel Captain Westwood.

Sade's quiet effort to rebuild her life on the island is threatened when she meets an actual young merman. Unable to speak his language, Sade still longs for the warm companionship he offers, despite the locals' dire legends about merfolk and their dark magic. But her confused feelings for the impossible boy become the least of her problems when Captain Westwood's ship docks at Windwaithe. With nowhere to escape, Sade must trust in the one person who doesn't fear the merfolk. A woman who had dealings with them herself—years ago

The Forbidden Sea Book Trailer is Here!!!

Okay guys, this is what you've been waiting for. Me most of all. I present to you, the finished Forbidden Sea Book Trailer. Here is a link to a high definition copy you can view and show all your friends. Enjoy!

*SPOILERS* Do not scroll down beyond this point unless you have read the novel, Forbidden Sea.

Just remember, when doing a trailer, sometimes things have to be changed and condensed to get the idea across in such a short period of time. Yes, I am well aware that Denn was not the one who went with Adrianne to the fortuneteller--but it was the only way we could get him in there--and that was the most important thing. Also, in the trailer, the mermaid you see is how Adrianne imagines her before meeting her, not what she really looks like--as those who have read the story will well know.

Other than that, tell me what you think of the trailer in comments! : )

Sheila, I've been anxiously awaiting this day for a very long time! I was so thrilled and I couldn't wait to see it! But now that I did, I'm a little disappointed. Which really I guess is to be expected, since everybody who reads the book pictures all the characters and settings in a different way so of course the video wouldn't be the way they expected... if anything it is how YOU imagined it when you wrote it right?

The lighthouse in the beginning caught my attention, it was captivating and so mystical!

I know the fortune teller was a major part of the book, but the way you wove it throughout the whole trailer made it seem like the book was about magic, which it wasn't. Even though mermaids are magical, I just mean it wasn't Harry Potter Houdini kind of magic.

Denn and Adrianne were so perfect! Maybe I'm remembering this wrong, but didn't Denn have red hair? They're costumes were so beautiful!

I wish her family's cottage could have been shown, or Cecily! I imagine that was hard enough to capture though... how long you must have spent getting just that one minute of film together!

This is just my opinion though, you asked us to share what we thought of it, so I thought I'd take the time to write this out. Really, it was fabulous, (besides all the petty things I mentioned which are really completely ridiculous.)

Do you think this trailer you made might sell more copies of your book so you might be able to release the sequel? Any news on when that might happen? Are we getting closer?

Oh and one last question, where did you film it? Which beach?

Sorry this comment was so long... I didn't mean to type so much.

Sorry Sheila,
I was a little bit disappointed. The settings and characters did not quite fit my expectations and it didn't seem like the book at all.

I enjoyed the book a lot. I love mythical and fantasy books. I did not like the trailer. Denn has red, curly hair although your nephew is hansom. I don't think the trailer was anything like the book which is very disappointing. Thank you for sharing your story. it is my second favorite book, the Twilight saga is my first, but as I said before I love the book.
