Shadow in the Sea

Readers will return to Windwaithe Island once again. When sixteen-year-old Sadelyn Hanson washes up on the shores of Windwaithe Island, her beauty and the strange marks on her wrist make superstitious locals suspect she is a mermaid. Feigning amnesia, Sade hides a far worse secret: she was sailing to her own murder trial when she was thrown overboard by the real killer, the cunning and cruel Captain Westwood.

Sade's quiet effort to rebuild her life on the island is threatened when she meets an actual young merman. Unable to speak his language, Sade still longs for the warm companionship he offers, despite the locals' dire legends about merfolk and their dark magic. But her confused feelings for the impossible boy become the least of her problems when Captain Westwood's ship docks at Windwaithe. With nowhere to escape, Sade must trust in the one person who doesn't fear the merfolk. A woman who had dealings with them herself—years ago

Forbidden Sea Mermaid Contest Giveaway!!!--CLOSED

THIS CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED
The winner will be announced sometime later tonight. Keep checking back to see if you have won!

I've been invited to participate as one of the authors at the extremely popular Provo City Library Children's Book Festival this year. So I've decided it is time to celebrate. And what better way to celebrate than to host a Forbidden Sea giveaway with extra fantastic mermaid prizes? Some of you are probably already aware that one of my favorite hobbies is making miniature sculpture jewelry. Click here to see some of my past work. Well this is your one and ONLY chance to get your hands on your very own, one-of-a-kind mermaid necklace (pictured above) hand sculpted by me! Not only does the contest winner get the necklace, but they will also get a signed copy of Forbidden Sea (hardback) AND a copy of Christian Birmingham's gorgeously illustrated  The Little Mermaid, AND a beautiful pink beaded bookmark so that they can mark their place with style. (See pictures below)

Forbidden Sea Contest Rules

As much as I would love to open this contest to everyone--I'm afraid I'll have to limit entries only to those with a USA or Canada address that I can mail to. Unfortunately, international shipping is WAY too expensive for my slim budget. If you do live in the USA or Canada, (or have a friend willing to let you use their USA or Canada address) all you have to do to be entered in the drawing for these prizes is leave a comment below with your name and email address so that if you are chosen I can contact you and let you know you are the winner. And just to make the drawing more interesting--anyone willing to blog, tweet, Facebook, or otherwise post about this contest to friends, family, and complete strangers, will get their name in the drawing a second time. Just include a link to the post/tweet/whatever in your comment so that I can see it.

You have until midnight on May 27th to enter yourself in this contest. On the evening of May 28th  a winner will be chosen and posted so make sure to check back then. If the winner does not respond to my email within a week--a new winner will be chosen at that time. A winner who can not provide a USA or Canada address will be disqualified.

Good luck to all!

Gorgeous cover and mermaid bling. I popped over from Michelle Teacress's blog. I'm glad I did. My daughter adored The Little Mermaid. She's graduating college as an English major in June. I think I'll have to pop your book under her pillow.

I just finished reading your book and decided to see if you had written a sequel. My granddaughter was given this book to read by her teacher and I saw the cover and read the brief summary and new I needed to read it. Thank you. I loved your story. I have had the same feelings that Adrianne had and wish that this book would have been around when I was her age. Loved the book.

My son Dallin was the MC at the Provo City Library Children's Book Festival. He knows how much I love books and so he called me tonight to tell me about all the authors and illustrators he got to meet. I have now been looking up all of their blogs or webpages to see who he saw. I love YA fiction and even if I don't win I look forward to reading you book.
