I went and saw Hunger Games really late last night. LOVED it! Not quite as good as the book but then what movie ever is? However, now I'm paying for for my late night fun. Oh, so tired this morning. Anyone else get to see the movie yet? What did you think? I'd love to hear your opinions.
Sheila!! I saw it last night as well and I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!! I thought it was done so well. Books can never be perfectly adapted to movies since film is a totally different medium than books but I thought they did the best they could and knowing that Suzanne Collins was thoroughly involved definitely showed. I mean, she wrote the first draft of the screenplay and then was involved with the edits after. How perfect is that?!
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed it as well!!!
It was soooo good! I loved it!
ReplyDeleteI agree that it was amazing!! I was happily surprised at how close they kept to what happened in the book. And while there were a FEW tweaks I'd make to some of the actors they had (ie. I would have made Peta a little taller and more muscular), I feel like the actors did a REALLY good job at each playing their character and making everything very believable. :)
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with all of the above. Not perfect, but a pretty good effort all in all. Throughly enjoyable.
ReplyDeleteI really want to, but I haven't yet. A lot of my friends went to the midnight showing and they said it was amazing.
ReplyDeleteNeed@Read--you are going to LOVE it! All those who haven't had a chance to see it yet--get to the theater as fast as you can. : )
ReplyDeleteTrina--I was excited too when I found out Suzanne did some work on the screenplay. It shows.
The movie was AMAZING! I thought it was perfectly cast. It obviously was not as good as the book but it was very well done.
ReplyDeleteThe only real problem I had with it was that jumpy camera work at the beginning. Otherwise, loved it.
ReplyDeleteThis is my blog post about it. Well, more the book than the movie, but I wrote it in honor of having seen the movie.

ReplyDeleteagloverelizaabeth - I agree, the actors they chose were fabulous! Especially Cinna. He was PERFECT! I am no where near as good a writer as Suzanne Collins but the fact you would count me up there with them in your favorites is the nicest compliment an author could hope for. *blushes* :)Thank you for making my day.
